This is the July 2019 issue, even though it’s being sent in early August. I have a good excuse for why this issue is late: I took a long vacation in late July and eloped with my girlfriend Georgetta Purdy. We got married in New Orleans. (George Lawrence + Georgetta Lawrence = GL squared). Needless to say, a honeymoon in the French Quarter will make you lose track of time and real life! I could not imagine a better partner in life than Georgetta. Besides being sweet and pretty and a rocker, her two sons are drummers so she knew what she was getting into! :-) Her oldest, Evan Thomas is the drum builder who makes the single ply steam bent shells for my Famous Drums brand. So it’s a family affair! Please indulge me while I show you some pictures of our lost weekend in the Big Easy.
