Hi,
I got this drum from a past student about 25 years ago.
THE SHELL:
The solid maple shell is in great shape with a clean interior. The most interesting part of this drum is the uncatalogued finish that I call “Rainbow Sprinkles”. It looks like a “coral” enamel base with multi-colored specks on top. I have never seen or heard of another Slingerland drum with this finish. I always welcome photos of any similar finished drums that may be out there in the wild.
THE HARDWARE:
The nickel hardware is all there and in great shape. The Tone Flange on this drum is the solid brass (no holes) version. I am familiar with three types of Tone Flanges: 1. Solid brass with no holes. 2. Solid brass with holes. 3. Aluminum with holes.
Of-the-era calf heads and snares rounded out this restoration.
Enjoy!
