Hi,
I got this drum from a European collector many years ago. I call it a “Monday Morning at the Office” drum because the scroll pattern is in every panel but there is no “Ludwig Chicago” engraving that would normally be just left of the strainer. I have seen this before but on very few drums. There are a few other “Monday Morning at the Office” drums that I own and I have added a few photos of those to this article.
The shell is in great shape with a nice scroll pattern. The hardware is all there and shows its age.
Two other “Monday Morning at the Office” drums:
1. An early 1920s L & L 4 x 14 DeLuxe that has the “Ludwig Chicago” engraving two panels left of the strainer.
2. Mid-1920s 6.5 x 14 DeLuxe with the “Ludwig Chicago” engraving in the lower half of the strainer panel.
Feel free to show me your “MMATO” drums.
Enjoy!
