In my previous post in last months issue I had an etude titled ‘Repeat After Me’ in which there were just eighth notes and quarter notes played between the snare and bass. The following etude represents the second part--the rhythmic makeup now consists mostly of eighth triplets between the bass and snare. You have to concentrate —it’s easy to make mistakes. The etudes were taken from my book, DUET YOURSELF, and the special type of coordination involved in both etudes can be found in my book, Ambidexterity, The Holy Grail for Total Independence At the Drum Set.
