I never saw one of these in person and I never imagined I would ever own one, I’ve been looking for years.
Well, one popped up online and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I normally wouldn’t write about a single piece of hardware, but this one is worthy of the recognition.
This incredible 100% Original Near Mint 1950 #7598 Leedy & Ludwig “Floor Cymbal Stand” just arrived at Studio 3T and it’s all I hoped it would be.Gorgeous nickel plate and fully functional with Leedy & Ludwig stamped on the leg. In fact, very few items sold under the L&L name do not have this monogram.
I own a stunning Mint 1953 Leedy & Ludwig WMP set I purchased from the original owners widow, one of my passions being Leedy & Ludwig anything. They were only in business a few short years from 1950-1955 and I believe they manufactured some of the best drums and accessories of the day. That set will be featured in one of my future columns. For now this beauty will take a stand with my set and proudly hold that vintage Zildjian ride!
