Sometimes a set just thrills you to no end and gets your heart racing, this is one of those sets. Allow me to introduce my latest addition to the Studio 3T arsenal. 1963 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe Outfit No. 1N with the upgraded Solid Shell 1-Ply Radio King 3-Point Strainer Snare all in Sparkling Blue Pearl.
13”, 16”, 22”, 5.5” x 14” RK.
All drums are COB Rims and original Wood Hoop paint and inlay. All drums have double Factory Mufflers including a Rare set of Double-Dual “Ray McKinley” tone controls on the bass drum. I picked up this set from the original owner last week. It is 100% original and about as mint as I’ve ever seen. It arrived in its original mint Humes & Berg hard cases with the original very fragile H&B labels still intact. As a Humes & Berg endorsing artist this is a special thrill to me. It also came with its original set of late 1950s (minus 3-dot) Zildjian cymbals, all very thin and unique, 15” thin hats, 18” thin crash and 20” thin ride all in original mint condition.
I did a complete restoration - every single part disassembled, hand polished and cleaned - every single shell compounded, finished polished, and buffed, buffed, buffed. All original hardware completely polished and buffed with new leather. All new Remo Ambassador heads except the bass batter is an Emperor. These heads open the sound up as they were meant to be, extraordinary. The inside of the shells are all clear maple and look like the day they were manufactured. The set arrived with all the original heads on and have never been taken off till now. The original wrap is as perfect as you can imagine.
I will stare at these for a short time then move them into the studio and make them sing again!
Thanks for checking these beauties out.
Stay tuned...🥁
