Veteran Austin.Texas drumstick wielder, teacher and drum book author Nick Marcy just put out his first issue of Austin Drummer Magazine and, if it's an example of things to come, it's going to be of great interest to drummers everywhere. We all know that Austin is now one of the major music hubs in the country, thus a major drumming hub and everyone wants to know what's going on there. Nick's rag is about things that Austin drummers are interested in: the scene, the gear, the drums, the drumming and other Austin Drummers - plus other helpful stuff that's aimed at drummers everywhere . The first issue has some great articles by some great writers. It's free. Get on the email list. Email nick at NICDRUMS@aol.com We plan on running some of Nick's articles in Not So Modern Drummer here soon as well. Thanks, Nick.
Here's Nick's words:
Hello, and welcome to our brand new publication AUSTIN DRUMMER MAGAZINE. I’ve been living in Austin, Texas over half my life; it is a pretty unique city in the central part of Texas. It’s had a thriving live music scene as long as I’ve lived here and well before I arrived. Please send us feedback: let us know if you love it, hate it or what you want to see in it. I’m planning to charge advertisers, not readers. I plan to have gigs posted, bands wanting drummers, drummers wanting bands. All will be free for readers. No charge. Nada.
